Vandaag ga ik jullie vertellen over de beste (en duurste) foundation die ik ooit heb gebruikt: MAC studio fix fluid SPF 15 foundation. Voorheen gebruikte ik altijd foundations van merken die je in de drogisterij kan kopen. De laatste die ik voor deze gebruikte was Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation. Hij was wel goed dekkend, wat echt een vereiste is voor mijn oneffen huid, maar ik vond ‘m te cakey en mijn hoofd ging snel glimmen. Toen een vriendin van mij vertelde dat ze zweert bij MAC foundation besloot ik ook maar eens wat meer geld uit te geven aan een goede foundation, het is immers de basis van je make-up. Ik liet me adviseren bij de MAC counter in de Douglas in de Kalvertstraat. Ik vertelde dat ik op zoek was naar een dekkende foundation en langhoudende foundation die mijn gezicht ervan weerhield te gaan glimmen. Zelf had ik de MAC pro longwear foundation in gedachten, omdat die tot 15 uur zou moeten blijven zitten. De verkoopmedewerkster vertelde me echter dat de MAC studio fix fluid ook heel lang blijft zitten (het scheelt misschien twee uurtjes met de pro longwear), maar dekkender is dan de pro longwear en speciaal geschikt is voor de vette huid. Ik nam dus de MAC studio fix fluid SPF 15 foundation in de kleur NW13 mee naar huis. Deze foundation geeft een medium tot opbouwbare (opgebracht in meerdere lagen) hoge dekking. Ik gebruik zelf graag mijn beautyblender om deze foundation aan te brengen en gebruik ongeveer vier pompjes met de tweede foto van bovenstaande collage als resultaat. Zoals je ziet maakt het mijn huid heel mat en bedekt het de rode vlekken in mijn gezicht. Alleen de puistjes zijn nog een beetje zichtbaar welke ik vervolgens heb gecamoufleerd met een pompje MAC pro longwear concealer in de kleur NW15. Nu heb ik eerder een gecombineerde huid dan een vette huid, aangezien ik erg snel ga glimmen op mijn T-zone, maar naast mijn T-zone wel eens last heb van een droge huid. Omdat deze foundation mat opdroogt kan het droge plekjes wel een beetje accentueren. Wanneer ik last heb van droge plekjes meng ik deze foundation met een drupje MAC prep prime essential oils, een tip die ik kreeg van diezelfde MAC verkoopmedewerkster, works like a charm. Over het langhoudende gedeelte ben ik ook heel enthousiast. Als ik deze foundation draag gaan mijn neus en voorhoofd wel een beetje glimmen aan het einde van de dag, maar het lijkt eerder dewy dan vies vettig. Hij blijft verder wel goed zitten, iets wat ik over de Rimmel Stay Matte foundation niet kan zeggen. Als ik die foundation droeg had ik aan het einde van de dag streepjes foundation op mijn voorhoofd zitten. Ik ben dus enorm tevreden over deze foundation en zou ‘m zeker weer kopen. Toch ben ik ook nog steeds wel nieuwsgierig naar de MAC pro longwear foundation, dus misschien dat ik deze ook wel eens ga proberen. Het enige nadeel van de MAC studio fix fluid foundation is de prijs van 30,50 euro en dan moet je het (herbruikbare) pompje van 5 euro er nog los bijkopen. Ik heb het er echter graag voor over! Today I’m telling you about the best (and most expensive) foundation I’ve ever used: MAC studio fix fluid SPF 15 foundation. I used to use drugstore brands foundations. The last one I used before this one was Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation. It did have a high coverage, which is a must for my uneven skin, but I thought it was too cakey and I got shiny very quickly. When a friend of mine told me she swears by MAC foundation I decided to splurge on a good foundation, since it is the base of your make up. I got advice by the MAC counter in the Douglas in the Kalverstraat (a well-known street in Amsterdam). I said I was looking for a high covering and longwearing foundation that prevented my face from getting shiny. I actually had the MAC pro longwear foundation in mind, since it lasts for up to 15 hours. The salesgirl told that the MAC studio fix fluid is very longlasting as well (it differs only two hours with the pro longwear), but provides a higher coverage than the pro longwear and is especially suitable for oily skin. So I took the MAC studio fix fluid SPF 15 foundation in the color NW13 home. This foundation provides a medium to high (applied in multiple layers) coverage. I like to use approximately four pumps and use my beautyblender to apply resulting in the second photo in the collage above. As you cans see it makes my skin matte and it covers the blemishes of my face. You can still see my pimples a bit though, so I camouflaged those with a single pumps of MAC pro longwear concealer in the color NW15 I actually have more of a combined skin than an oily skin though, since I do tend to get oily on my T-zone very quickly, but I still have dry spots sometimes. Since this foundation has a dry finish it can accentuate my dry spots a little. When I have dry spots I mix this foundation with a drop of MAC prep prime essential oils, a tip I got from that same MAC salesgirl, works like a charm. I’m very enthusiastic about the longevity. When I wear this foundation my nose and forehead do get a bit shiny, but it looks more dewy than filthy greasy. It does stay put though, something I can’t say about the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation. When I was wearing that foundation my forehead was covered with tiny foundations streaks at the end of the day. So I’m very excited about this foundation and would definitely buy it again. I’m still curious for the MAC pro longwear foundation though, so I might try that one as well in the future. The only disadvantage of the MAC studio fix fluid foundation is the price of 30,50 euros and than you still have to buy the (reusable) pump of 5 euros.
