Greige Love Affair With YSL

‘Greige’ tips… I never thought I’d say that but the oh-so-sophisticated blend of gray and beige has completely captured my heart this season! It’s the perfect twist of the more mainstream nudes and it instantly adds that classy and chic vibe to any outfit I am sporting. I already had a few beige polishes in my collection and just when I didn’t need any more shades I spotted this YSL La Laqua Couture in #39 Beige Gallery(here) and it needed to be popped in my shopping basket. I went home, put my hair up in a bun and applied this gorgeous neutral and a new love relationship started. It was a love of first sight and the warm ‘concrete beige’ shade with strong gray undertones left me absolutely smitten. Even though I am pale as a ghost and my skintone is rather cool, this high-gloss beauty looks stunning and doesn’t wash me out, which is normally an issue with nudes. Beige Gallery is the epitome of sophistication and not only compliments any outfit but being a YSL creation it is the perfect way to add some luxurious touch to your everyday life.
If you’ve ever tried an YSL nail polish you’d know that the quality is pure perfection (as it should be considering the £18.50 price tag #ouch). Even my beloved Essies can’t really compare! But let’s gush about the brush for a moment: It’s the perfect wide brush, that’s slightly curved at the end and which covers the entire nail in just one swipe with no streaks involved. It dispenses the right amount of product and magically keeps the cuticles nice and clean. The formula itself is brilliant as it’s neither too thick, nor too watery and the polish just goes on beautifully. With Beige Gallery I find that two coats are needed to get the color fully opaque and even but since the drying time is minimal it fine by me. Plus, any excuse I have to admire the incredible YSL packaging is welcomed! The longevity of this gorgeous greige is decent and I find that without top coat is hangs around for four days with minor chipping and tip wear. If you fancy rocking Beige Gallery from Sunday to Sunday though just pop on some top coat (my fave here) and just admire Beige Gallery in all its glory for a whole week.
Have you tried Beige Gallery before? Which is your favorite ‘greige’ nail polish?
Lots of love, Andrea
