You can't go wrong having all the right basics in your wardrobe. I am a firm believer in every man owning a shawl collar cardigan (yes, a la Mr. Rogers but that's why it's a classic right?!), the perfect Oxford, a great pair of dark washed (comfortable) denim, boat shoes, and a skinny tie that can be dressed up or down. I wouldn't qualify the backpack as a must have item, but I just love all Herschel bags and am pretty into the plaid on this number so he made the cut. Pair these classic pieces all together for a simple, tailored look or use them as the foundation to any look worn individually and you'll be good to go!
