It's definitely no bad thing to find some new beauty bits in your sack on Christmas morning and this year I was a little bit spoilt in that department, receiving some new products to try and old favourites to re-discover. I've introduced them all into my routine since which have all found a place in my beauty-loving heart:
The Body Shop - Vitamin E Moisture Cream A Body Shop cult classic and actually an old favourite which I raved about last year, now I remember why. This is a gorgeous, light-weight and breathable moisturiser which perks you up like a good ole morning run in the park. It's incredibly smoothing and hydrating, without being greasy and instantly sinks into the skin, making it ideal for use before makeup.
The Body Shop - Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil As a big fan of Vitamin E's hydrating properties, I was rather keen to try something else from the range. A serum-in-oil (mouthful anyone?!), this product claims to 'to indulge, replenish and recharge skin with moisture overnight.' I'm a face oil virgin, normally opting for purely serums, so this has tad getting used to. Unlike my usual and probably preferred love, the Vichy Aqualia Life Serum, this is very greasy and takes much longer to sink in although it leaves the skin undeniably, silky-soft.
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Malicieuse This one was a surprise gift from my boyfriend (major props to him for going into the Chanel shop and picking out a lipstick shade himself, I was very,
very impressed) giving me my first venture into the Chanel lipstick world and it's been a very successful one. He picked out La Malicieuse, a stunning vibrant coral pink which will be quite simply
beaut in the summer months. The Rouge Allure Velvets are a dreamy matte formula which glide across the lips and aren't at all drying - I'm a little bit in love.
Jo Malone Cologne in Wood Sage and Sea Salt Huge, huge swoon...at my first ever Jo Malone fragrance. With some Xmas money to burn, I found myself automatically heading to the nearest JM counter and spent a good half an hour sniffing all of their glorious scents till I found
the one. This came in the form of their latest addition to the collection, wood sage & sea salt. I'm not a huge fan of overly floral or ultra sweet scents, so I fell head over heels for this fresh, slightly earthy/woody scent that smells just like the seaside on a spring morning with a whole lot of general sophisticated goodness thrown in. This also lasts like no other fragrance I've ever had.
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Shade Mont Blanc So this is by no means a new discovery but my love for this has been reignited all the more since receiving a new bottle for Christmas. A medium-coverage foundation with the perfect balance of matte/dewiness. With a stunning satin finish, this makes the skin look flawless and glowing without the shininess of other dewy foundations. It lasts for ever, has no SPF and is totally buildable - Sheer Glow can do no wrong.
