Tea Time! Yarn wreath + Miniatures.

If you've been keeping up with my last few posts, you know my parents are in a new place. Which means, a housewarming gift is in order, naturally. But what do you get people who don't want 'stuff' to clutter their place? A wreath for the front door of course!

My mom has loved the yarn wreaths I've made in the past. Many which were in my Etsy shop (which will be stocked up again very soon), and I've shared quite a few here on SaltTree. Even a tutorial to get you going. So I'll dispense with the... 'how to wrap a wreath' part and just tell you what I used. If you want more info, check out the links within this post to find instructions, or you can always check out the craft & sew page for more tutorials.

This is a simple wreath that I think works well for late summer / early fall. Wrapped with a deeper version of a spring green and criss-crossed with some taupe yarn, this straw wreath form was now the perfect backdrop for the scene. A variety of handmade felt flowers all in ivory, set a nice stage for the wine red, oversized bloom. I think the richness of that flower is what makes it work for this transition time from summer to fall.

But my favourite part is the little bureau with the wee teapot and saucer (available from WholePort). I cut some paper into tiny stacks to fill the shelves of the bureau. After all, it's got to be a favourite work spot or reading / writing place. Wouldn't you agree?

PS... mom loved it. Wee!
