Hotel news: The Bloxham is back

Dust off that flapper dress and practice your Charleston, The Bloxham hotel is about to open its doors, shake the absinthe cocktails and turn on those art deco lights after decades in the dark.

In the roaring 1920s, The Bloxham was the place to see and be seen for London’s smart set. One of the largest and most impressive hotels in the capital – the hotel was famous for its raucous parties and elite clientele.

This September – almost 100 years after first opening – The Bloxham is set to welcome guests into its 200 elegant rooms once again.

Sympathetically restored after a multi-million pound renovation, we hear the hotel will encompass various function rooms, including an opulent ballroom for dancing into the night, plus a glamorous bar with chic art deco interiors and expert mixologists serving up classic prohibition era cocktails. The vast hotel is also set to house an art gallery with an exclusive collection of 1920s paintings.

The details are yet to be released but fine dining restaurants are expected to feature and – in true British tradition – sumptuous afternoon teas will be served alongside the soothing sound of a live pianist.

If The Bloxham’s decadent past is anything to go by, London’s newest luxury hotel will be the talk of the town. Find out more at www.bloxhamhotel.com
