Palm Springs: Easter Weekend

Growing up, my family celebrated many Easters in Palm Springs with my mother's side of the family. Over the years as we have gotten older and filled our adult schedules with obligations like work and school, we haven't found time to all go down as a family for an Easter Celebration.

This year was different though as almost all of us made it down for the weekend, one brother was stuck in Eugene with class :( My mom and Alex drove down earlier in the week since they were both on Spring Break, but the rest of us flew down early Saturday morning and after we touched down it was go, go, go until we all drove home on Monday together.

Three cheers for 6 am flights! Once we arrived, we all went out for lunch and then back to the house. I indulged in a quick swim in the pool and later in the afternoon, the two of us spent a few hours at The Living Desert, which deserves its own post later this week.

Saturday night my uncle hosted a wonderful cocktail party at his condo with delicious food catered from a local French restaurant and yummy drinks. Friends and family spent time together enjoying the warm evening on the pretty patio and inside the house and of course I have one picture to show for it...

Regardless of the lack of photos, it was a great night and the next morning, Easter Sunday, the entire family enjoyed brunch at The Springs (a family tradition). Needless to say it was a weekend full of good food, and family.

On Monday we all made the trek back home via the Californian desert highways, a full 8 hours in the car.

It was a wonderful, quick short trip seeing family and friends, and introducing the boy to the crazy family :)
