Finland’s Helkama Updates the 1965 Jopo Bike

First introduced in 1965, the Jopo bike promoted a distinctly Finnish vision: it was the “bike for any and every rider.” A widely adjustable seat and handlebar make the bike easy for anyone to maneuver. This pure utilitarianism of the vehicle is what makes it cool for us.

Although slightly updated in 2000, the classic form remains immediately recognizable from its low frame to large 24” wheels. No, this will not get you over the Brooklyn Bridge quickly on a busy Tuesday morning, but that’s not the point. The Jopo is for easy weekends riding with friends and family. Pick one up in a variety of colors from the Finnish Design Shop, now available in new colors.
