Have you guys seen Pattern Anthology’s newest pattern line, 8 Days a Week? It is a mini collection of patterns: a woven dress, an easy to wear tee, knit pants (3 different variations!), and a jacket. These patterns are available for a discounted, collective price of $29.95 (40% OFF!) for a short two week period before they become regularly priced separates ((offer ends 10/6/14)). It is really a great deal considering you could sew up a good portion of your fall wardrobe with just this bundle of patterns.
For the blog tour, I chose to sew the Marigold Dress (designed by Blank Slate Patterns). I was a little nervous because of the button placket down the front bodice, but I loved the silhouette of the dress and felt I just needed to face my fear. ((//sidenote: I am not AFRAID of buttonholes, i just would hate to ruin an entire project with a misplaced buttonhole or buttonhole disaster. I literally hold my breath each and every time I my machine sews a buttonhole…))
I chose to sew my dress in a simple, solid cotton from my Art Gallery solids stash. I love the versatility, hate the wrinkles. Oh well. It was a simple sew I enjoyed how easily it all came together.
Pattern highlights: elastic waistband front, cut out pockets (not sure the technical term for this?). ALSO, this can also be a peplum top, hi-low peplum top, OR even just a skirt. Many possibilities from one single pattern!
I went with my bust measurement and sewed a size small. Wish I had gone up to a medium, hopefully it won’t shrink any
