valentine’s day soiree with women & whiskies.
happy early valentine’s day, dear readers! we’re really going to get you in the romantic spirit today, because we’re having another women & whiskies soiree and this time around it’s a valentine’s day theme! last week bri from designlovefest and i were most honored to co-hostess a valentine’s day shindig for women & whiskies. that’s pretty much our dream task: decorate and celebrate with pink, and cocktails, too? hey, okay! women & whiskies was created by Campari America with one very awesome mission in mind: to educate women on how to rock your whiskey cocktail orders like a pro — so you’re comfortable tasting, talking, and buying whiskey — which has been traditionally marketed and advertised to men. women’s more astute palates (ahem!) make us ideal candidates for sampling the delicious varieties of great whiskeys. so, time to order up a whiskey! The Campari America Fine Whiskies Portfolio includes a diverse collection of whiskies from around the world including Wild Turkey, Russell’s Reserve, Glen Grant, and Forty Creek.
to get this party started, bri and i decked out the designlovefest studio in los angeles and created a plush pink haven for women to sit and sip their whiskey cocktails in real comfort and relaxation. we did this with the help of found rentals, where we ordered everything we needed from carpets, to pillows & ottomans, to swanky velvet sofas. they also provided a beautiful bar set up for women & whiskie’s brand ambassador lucia to do her mixing magic, with gorgeous flowers hung around her from moon canyon. in pretty pink and white goblets, and crystal rocks glasses and coupes from casa de perrin, lucia served us the fanciest cocktails around, including the major’s punch (that goes down way too easy!); the oh canada; the avery julep; and my personal favorite, the boulevardier. yum. all of these delicious recipes are available on women & whiskies, and make the perfect compliment to the special plans you’ve got with your valentine or girlfriends. and, if you’d like more inspiration for your own valentine soiree, follow women & whiskies and our hashtag #drinkpretty on instagram where you’ll find a bunch more photos from the evening.
