Day 3: The Body That Is Not Enough

It's day 3 of 21 Days Of Yoga! How is your practice coming, friends? If you missed this weeks video practice, you can find it here.

Today I am preaching to myself. Care to join in? Let's talk about guilt. If you have been a long time reader, you may recall me touching on how I have struggled with body image. Skinny has been a issue of the heart, and it runs deep. I mean, just look at the headlines of beauty and fitness magazines. Every headline is striving to be the fittest, the prettiest, the skinniest. There is a driving force between every headline, and every ounce that is obsessed over on a scale. There is a propelling force between every guilt ridden lie we tell ourselves: we are not enough.

Friends, I dare you to challenge your thinking these next few weeks as we go through 21 Days Of Yoga. Can we be brave enough to get quiet and ask the really hard questions of what is our driving force in life? In relationships? In fitness? In our relationship with Christ? Is it guilt?

These next 3 weeks as Jesus does the deep, intricate work in our hearts; changing us from the inside out on our mats, let's seek grace upon grace upon grace. As a community, can we stand and say we are DONE WITH GUILT and we are ready for Jesus' scandalous grace? This is a deep issue of the heart.

Today, as you get on your mat, I challenge you to accept the grace upon grace that is for you, even in the shaking and the stumbling. Truth be told, it is in the shaking where we find true change.

Your body was meant to move, and to breathe, and to worship. Your body is more than enough in it's current state. Your body was meant for health. Your body was meant to experience joy and grace. Your body is fearfully and wonderfully made.

Be brave.
