Simple Style For The Busy Girl

Once upon a time, this girl had all the time in the world to stand in front of her her closet and put together outfits together at her leisure. It was fun while it lasted. But these days, this ex-fashion-design-student-turned-busy-work-at-home-mama/Holy Yoga instructor/Writer has about sixty seconds (and sixty seconds is being generous) to paw through last nights clean laundry that was haphazardly placed right out of the dryer onto the bedroom floor. (Oh, time, you defy me.)
But that is okay. It is a busy season of life; motherhood, working, and chasing dreams late into the night. To be perfectly honest, most days I roll out of bed and as soon as my feet hit the ground, I'm on the go. I'm usually wearing last nights pajamas, as I suck down a cup of strong coffee at 1pm. My hair is everywhere, and I haven't even looked in the mirror. That is life right now, friends.
But, I do feel loads better when I let the kiddos scream for thirty seconds while I change quickly. So, in light of this, Simple Style For The Busy Girl was birthed. This feature is for us gals who are in a season of life, whatever stage of life it may be, which doesn't allow for a fussy wardrobe. My goal is to put together easy outfits we don't really have to put much time or thought into. We can feel dressed and ready, without the effort. Because I am there with you, friends. BUSY.
Before we get started, let me clarify TWO things:
1.) I am not a fashion blogger. You will not find over the top, high maintenance, work of art outfits here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting time and effort into a outfit, but in this season of life, I just can't. I'm guessing if you are still reading, that is you, too. What you will find here is simple.
2.) What I DON'T want you to do is leave here discouraged. Ever. Right after my daughter was born, I lived in pajamas. There were days I didn't have a moment to change out of the pajamas I wore three days in a row. I GET IT. For a solid year, I stopped reading any type of style post. I found myself getting angry and jealous looking at other women who had time to, you know, pee and get ready for the day. If you are in that season of life, I get it, and there is absolutely NO SHAME in that. I had two kids under two, and it was the most demanding endeavor I've ever experienced. The thought of putting together a outfit was just about as realistic as running for Mayor. It just wasn't going to happen. So, if that is you- give yourself grace! No judgement, and no comparison here, friends!
Now. Let's get started.

This outfit is easy peasy: Skinny jeans, gray raglan, cute flats, a skinny belt and a super soft She Does Justice infinity scarf. I can chase my kids in this outfit, and grab coffee with a friend later that night. Something about a great scarf and a belt make your outfit feel so much more put together. Add a pair of flats with a cute design, and you're golden. You are ready to walk (or run, because I am chronically late) out the door.
