A new chapter, falling back in love with blogging

“I’m going to liken blogging to a relationship. No matter how hard you try to love someone, trying isn’t enough. It has to happen naturally and the right way, or it’s never going to work”.

I have been trying to re-launch this blog now for quite a few months and every time you could say it’s failed miserably. I’m going to put it down to having no time, lack of motivation, lack of inspiration and lack of love for writing. I guess you could say that all of those factors and a blog that I fell out of love with, it was gonna’ fail. I’ve learnt a lot in the year that I’ve been blogging and forcing your way to the top with low quality content isn’t going to work. You need dedication, love, time and consistency.

It wasn’t until my recent holiday to Greece that I began to fall back in love with writing, and I did a lot of thinking about my blog, the blogosphere and what I actually wanted to gain from my tiny space on the web. I’m going to liken blogging to a relationship. No matter how hard you try to love someone, trying isn’t enough. It has to happen naturally and the right way, or it’s never going to work. And sometimes, you need to take a step back, take some time off and revaluate your beliefs, inspirations and everything will eventually fall in to place.

What to expect from the future of this blog

“I love writing about things I’m passionate about and it’s easy to become lost in trying to fit in to gain more traffic, and for me, blogging should never be about that”.

I needed a break and I needed time to figure out what I wanted out of blogging, and I guess I needed to find some sort of purpose for it. Being abroad for two weeks with no desire to read up on what’s going on back home, my brain had breathing space and I just knew exactly what I wanted my blog to be. There’s going to be no forced posts, I’m just not going to write for the sake of getting a post out. There’s going to be a lot of honesty, even if people don’t agree with my opinions. And it’s also going to be fun. I love writing about things I’m passionate about and it’s easy to become lost in trying to fit in to gain more traffic, and for me, blogging should never be about that. Oh, and have you noticed I’ve actually swapped to a s**t hot theme? To be honest, it was about time…
