Polo

By now, you would have seen a bit of POLO Ralph Lauren action hitting my Instagram to break up my mess of Milan Fashion Week snippets, plus an exclusive first look up at ELLE Australia. Or at the very least, Monty Cox and I goofballing at terribly unreasonable hours of the morning on empty CBD streets, just before I got on a plane to the great NYC freeze.

You would also have noticed my stone cold absence from Shine By Three since that same NYC freeze iced over any remaining cognitive ability after jetlag – surely a human body is not supposed to function in an environment when one’s phone refuses to function.* Granted, twenty degrees below zero

and Wifi issues that follow me around the planet are not terribly conducive to articulate outpourings about the same model up-downs (though I am in the process of writing up some gushing pieces about collections I’ve adored). As a general Winter Fashion Month rule, all I’ve wanted do after long days between showrooms and shows, is to roll myself in coconut oil, and fall through the bed.

Ironically, and in spite of this content freeze, my image has never been more present on the Shine By Three landing page, possibly because I care much less about how I look than how I portray others. It follows, then that this campaign took just about all 24 hours of my travel time from Sydney to New

York to run selects on and then edit – not because I’d shot too many images, but rather that Monty is incapable of taking a bad photo.

Blessing or curse, spunkrat?

Enough small talk.

Montana Cox is no stranger to any of you. Nor is Ralph Lauren. Both make a campaign very easy to shoot at the crack of dawn. Monty’s easy, tomboyish energy works with just about any styling and creative direction, but combined with POLO’s rough, tumble and collegiate charm (and perhaps some of my overzealous layering or singular-earring advocacy), this is stuff of magic. Turning heads,

and stopping traffic.

Business as usual for our Monty.

So, while this might not be the architecturally glorious Parisian content you were hoping to turn up a Wednesday, I wouldn’t say our campaign is too far off – mainly attributable to that neon ‘Château‘ at St James Station, Ralph’s Blair Waldorf beret, and the forensically (aesthetically) reasonable inference that this POLO girl is probably off to break some hearts with a husky voice, flat shoes, cheese, wine and last night’s mascara.

Proceed with caution.
