Quelqu’un m’a dit
So here’s something I’ve been waiting to share for a while. I serendipitously met Amelia and her fantastic red hair at a TV cast shoot and got talking about working together on a shoot or two at some point when Uni calmed down a little. We’d been stalking each other on Instagram for a while, which I’m told is the new way to make friends.
True internet love, they say.
I jest. Though I must advocate that social media has become the most profoundly effective networking tool for artists. So no more drunk Saturday night photos, please.
As it turns out, Amelia and her partner in creative crime and life, Henryk, were to be working in Paris at the same time as I was. Et voilà: The product of an overcast few hours in Paris before resuming back to back meetings the day before leaving Paris. Henryk and Amelia’s apartment score was the stuff of your wildest, clean-lined semi-bohemian but mostly Vogue dreams come true. I’d never seen such a large space in the Marais, and had never before noticed how enviable French floorboards are, this particular morning. No matter where I’m living in ten years time, I will have these French floorboards. And a view of Paris as charming as this balcony’s.
Surely, most of you are sick of seeing some of these pieces being recycled between my day-to-day looks, but when one’s suitcase isn’t a bottomless pit (nor is my whole wardrobe at home, for that matter), layering unexpected outerwear and distracting the masses with hats and pretty necklaces is a prerequisite that the French do best.
