Holiday Cheers No. 4 | DIY Glitterware + Kahlúa Chocolate Angel Cake

Hi friends! In need of some quick entertaining ideas? As we’re coming close to Thanksgiving and officially kicking off the holiday season, I thought I’d put a little twist to this series by sharing a festive DIY with you and a Kahlúa chocolate sauce over angel cake that everyone is going to “ooooh” over! There is also a bonus drink recipe at the bottom of this post. If you’re looking to add a little kick to this party, you’ll want to check this out!

While I won’t share with you on how to bake a turkey or make stuffings (I’ll leave that to the pros), I do want to share these two easy ideas that are going to put some really nice touches to your upcoming parties. They are so simple that I can guarantee you that anyone reading this can achieve!

The first one is the {DIY Glitterware Tutorial}:

MATERIALS: Wooden utensils - this elegant cutlery set is my fave / Mod Podge in matte / extra fine glitter / small paint brush (optional).

1: Use a small brush, or tip of your finger (which is what I used), and dab a thin layer of Mod Podge at the tip of the wooden utensils.

2: Place the utensils on a piece of paper and sprinkle glitter on the tip.

3: Shake off excess sprinkles and place in a cup to dry. Mine took about 15 minutes to set.

The second one is {Kahlúa Chocolate Angel Cake}. Cooking time: 10 mins.

Ingredients: Original Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur – or pumpkin, or peppermint – really, it’s your call :) / semi-sweet or dark chocolate / heavy cream / unsalted butter / angel cake (I opted for a ready made one at Safeway, but if time allows, you can make it from scratch with these good recipes) / mint leaves for garnish

1. Heat 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

2. Add 1/2 pound chocolate, stirring, until it’s melted and smooth.

3. Remove from heat.

3. Add 2 parts of Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur (or to taste), and continue to mix well.

4. Let it cool to room temperature.

5. Cut angel cake in cubes and garish with mint leaves.

6. Pour Kahlúa chocolate sauce over cake when it is ready to serve.

Yields 2 cups of finger lickin’ good chocolate sauce! Not even kidding!

Now are you ready to add a kick to your party?

Try this bonus drink recipe: Mexican Kahlúa Hot Cocoa! It will leave your guests feeling warm and toasty, with added spice and everything nice. :)

Do you like these entertaining ideas? I hope you enjoy them and are ready to entertain! Don’t forget, there are still plenty of inspirations at KahluaHoliday.com as well as their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest with hashtag #KahluaHoliday.

Have the best time celebrating and the happiest Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!!
