Branding Your Corporate Ski Trip

This time of year, there’s nothing like a good challenge on the slopes. Why not use the opportunity to take your employees on a team building excursion in the mountains! Ski trips are a growing corporate trend and are great for building company morale, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and definitely serve for great dinner conversation! Snow sports in general such as skiing, snowboarding or snowmobiling, garner closer relationships, team work and encourage individuals to push their abilities to the limit. It’s a fun adventure for everyone! So, where do you start your planning?

Plan your agenda

First decide whether you will be planning a day trip or a weekend adventure. This way, you can tackle travel and accommodations first. Once that’s out of the way and you know how long you and your crew will be staying, it’s time to decide on an agenda. Make sure to plan your program ahead of time. You might want to enlist the help of a corporate event planner if you have a very large number of people to corral. Planning for hotels, travel, equipment rentals, meal reservations and any corporate event space needed within the venue can be a lot to juggle. Enlisting the help of a planner can take a lot of pressure off of your shoulders.

You also want think about what your goals for the ski trip will be. Are you celebrating a company milestone? Perhaps a merger? Maybe you’re just trying to change up your usual team building event. Whatever the reason for your trip, make sure to include a formal orientation. Orientations help brief your staff on the events to come for the day or following days. This also helps new employees get to know each other and allows your staff a chance to mingle. You agenda can look something like this.

8am: Arrival.

9am: Orientation.

10am-1pm: Skiing and lessons.

1pm: Lunch.

2-4pm: Night skiing.

6pm: Dinner/ presentation.

Having an agenda that is both fun and productive will keep your employees positive and invigorated. Special guest speakers and awards nights can also be good ideas to motivate and inspire your group.

But is there something more you can do to make this event truly special? Build loyalty with your employees by gifting them company gear suited for the snow. Equipping your crew with some awesome branded items perfect for skiing will definitely set the tone for a good, productive time. The goal here is to reinvigorate brand loyalty among your employees.
