A New Chapter.

It’s such a strange, and slightly surreal, feeling to be sitting in front of a blank page reading “Add New Post” at the top. I didn’t see myself back here, yet my plans always have a way of evaporating and reforming into something completely unexpected. My resolve to let life unfold naturally and to trust my gut instinct has served me well, and now my instinct is to come back to this platform.

Things have been a whirlwind. A busy, can’t-stop, energy-sapping whirlwind. But the dust has settled, and as a new picture has begun to fall into place, I see what has been known as “Sidewalk Ready” being a part of it. Sidewalk Ready was a fashion blog that I started on a whim over four years ago when I was a newlywed, living in my first home, and working part-time. Everything fit easily into my schedule, and each day felt orderly and manageable. As the circumstances of my life changed, so did my ability to stay on top of the simplest tasks, let alone a blog that I was once updating five times a week. The stress and pressure to maintain Sidewalk Ready weighed on me, and it took the joy out of something that was once purely a hobby.

I’m coming back to this with the attitude I had going into it. I remember blogging as a source of joy, and I want to share that through each post that I write. My vision is for this site to serve as a source of honesty, positivity, empowerment, inspiration, motivation, and beauty. The worst days of my life have occurred within the past two years, and so have some of the best days. I have a new sense of appreciation, and I feel like I’m experiencing the world and relationships with bare skin and open arms, beginning each day with a sense of excitement. This is something I want to share, and hopefully spread.

In the near future I will be rebranding Sidewalk Ready to the name I gave my latest tumblr project, That’s Your Gold. I feel it is a better representation of the inner and outer inspiration I hope to fill these pages with. (For an explanation on the name, click here.) Feel free to continue visiting through sidewalkready.com as it will redirect, but the new URL will soon be thatsyourgold.com (the tumblr will return to thatsyourgold.tumblr.com), and the logo at the top of this page will change as well. Past posts will not be removed, I will simply move forward.

Thank you for your support these past years, and I hope you are looking forward to this new chapter. Stay tuned for posts including, but not limited to, personal memoirs and essays, beauty tutorials, and, of course, outfit inspiration. I hope to make That’s Your Gold a community of women who appreciate the little things, are excited about life, pursue beauty, and strive to live lives full of love and gratitude.

Thank you for being here. I’ve missed you.

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
