I’m delighted that local online stores like Bumpy Land exist to help parents like me make buying products designed with sensory and developmental play in mind much easier.

Bumpy Land was launched earlier this year by Jules, a mum in Western Australia. Some of her children have special needs including autism, ADHD and sensory processing dysfunction. Searching online and offline for suitable products for her children was becoming a challenge as her children grew and Jules knew of many mums who also found it such a chore. So what better solution than to launch her own online store.

Bumpy Land is a store catering for parents of children with or without a formal diagnosis. All items are hand-selected and tested by Jules and her family. The store is forever growing and Jules plans to bring us a full no-nonsense spectrum of sensory tools and toys and educational items. She also uses no frills packaging to ensure the lowest postage costs for buyers.

What it is…

Camouflaged as a regular costume jewellery, these oral-tactile sensory therapy tools are designed for children long past the baby stage but who have Sensory Processing Disorder or other conditions that result in them constantly needing to mouth items like clothes or toys. As they are worn as pendants it makes it much easier to keep track of than the handheld ‘chewies’ that could easily be left in the sandpit at the park or on dirty surfaces.
