I was sweetly nominated for The Tour Through Blogland series by one of my sponsors: Ashley of Love-Marriage-Baby! Here is the link to her participation in the series. She asked me a list of questions pertaining to my blog and how I write. Here are my answers:
1. What am I working on?
I actually am working on something, but I can't reveal that right now! I have about 5 posts written in a series that I am going to start, but I don't want to reveal anything until it is done. I am really excited about it! Right now I am mainly working on being a good wife and remembering all of my teaching techniques that I forgot over the summer. I am also working on grades that are due today!
2. How does my work differ from others from its genre?
Well I guess that would depend on what my genre is! It I was to compare myself to other lifestyle bloggers, I would say that I spend more time on informative posts then most. Many lifestyle bloggers stick to products, cooking, clothes, and events. I love doing posts about military information, Biology lab ideas, or How to make something new.
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I started blogging to share our Air Force journey and pictures with the people that we love. Slowly though, it became my creative outlet for all things in my life. The Air Force is currently in slow motion, so I decided to branch out and share other areas of our life. I am slowly falling away from Facebook, but I wanted a different way to connect with people- that became my blog.
4. How does your writing/creating process work?
I am not as organized with my blog as I should be! Most bloggers keep a planner with blog ideas and map of when they will post their blogs. I should definitely do that, but right now I am not on top of my stuff. Instead, every time I have a blog post idea, I make a draft with the title to remind me what I want to write about. Weebly has a phone app that makes it easy to add drafts to my site. A draft is essentially a hidden post until you decide to publish it. I have tons of drafts with ideas that will either become a post or get deleted!
