My office + guest room

I wavered on what to do about our bedroom situation upstairs after I found out I was pregnant again.

It felt too soon to move David out of his room, but his room was set up perfectly for a baby with the glider, changing table, and crib.

I thought about moving David into our guest room and making that room 1/2 his and 1/2 for guests. That would leave my office where it is, and mean the new baby would go into the nursery.

I’ve mentioned before that my decision making skills basically disappear when I’m pregnant, and that held true for figuring out the bedroom situations.

However, I managed to figure it out and decided that David will have his own room in my former office (which I am SO excited about sharing with you soon!) and my office moved into the guest room. And the baby will occupy the nursery!

So, the guest room quickly became quite a bit more girly as soon as I decided to set up camp in there. I utilized a good bit of what I had in my previous office, but given space constraints I had to sell my beloved huge desk! Thankfully it went to a friend and it’s getting good use now. I loved that desk.

glass display: Hobby Lobby, pink flowers: Marshalls, Voluspa Candle

I stuck with the original color palette of light purples, pops of pink, and grey.

bed frame: Ikea, bedding: Target (similar), side table: Target (similar)

armoire: Ikea, numbered baskets: TJ Maxx

end table: Ikea, chair: Target

The pillows, a gift from Caitlin Wilson Textiles, really added a nice finishing touch to the bed, and made the whole look a bit more cohesive! I didn’t want the room to feel split in half, and I’m happy to say that it all flows together quite nicely!

I know you may be thinking “well where is the desk, kate?”. I’ll share that soon. There’s nothing special about it, it just needs a little attention before it’s totally finished. I’m still sorting out where to put things that used to be on my larger desk.

I’m excited to also share that Caitlin Wilson Textiles is offering a fantastic giveaway of a $200 store credit today for a lucky reader! The 4 pillows you see on the bed are designed by Caitlin Wilson and I love them! Use the giveaway tool below to enter the giveaway (open internationally!)!

In the meantime, feel free to use promo code SMALLTHINGS15 to receive 15% off your order at CaitlinWilsonTextiles.com! It expires 12/25.
