Work Begins at the Anthem House Development in Locust Point

The Fort Ave. entrance to Locust Point will take on a completely new look as work has begun at the Anthem House. This mixed-use development from Solstice Partners, Scott Plank’s War Horse LLD development firm, and The Bozzuto Group is located at a former General Electric site at 900 E. Fort Ave. at the corner of Fort Ave. and Lawrence St. across from Southside Marketplace and The Foundry. The $80 million project will include 275 apartments and 14,000 sq. ft. of ground floor retail, as well as 5,000 sq. ft. of rooftop/sky lounge retail space.

The retail to tenant mix at Anthem House is to be determined but Jeff Jacobson with Solstice Partner told SouthBMore.com that they are hoping the dining options will include some or all of the following: fast casual dining, a chef concept restaurant, a coffee shop/cafe, and a bar/lounge. The group has brought on StreetSense as its retail broker and are now marketing the available spaces.

The project also includes a two-and-a-half level parking garage and more than an acre of outdoor space for its tenants. This space includes a rooftop lounge, a pool area, an outdoor park-style patio facing the Inner Harbor, and a pet run.

Bozzuto Construction began mobilizing at this site last week and started to clear and prepare the site for development. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2017.

War Horse LLC also owns the former Rallo’s/Big Matty’s and rear parking lot across Lawrence St. from Anthem House. The property was recently approved for a transfer of the former Thornton’s liquor license.
