My Lomography La Sardina DIY Camera + Win One of Your Own!
The first time I really got into analogue photography was when I decorated a Holga camera back in 2010.
I love messing around with my
Holga camera and
Polaroid cameras. There are so many surprises and accidents that make this type of photography so fun, and no one embraces this culture and art form better than Lomography. When my friend Juan at Lomography asked me if I wanted to embellish a Sardina camera and be a part of the
DIY Sardina exhibit that they held in August, I felt really honored to be asked. :)
Photo via Lomography More than the other toy cameras, the Sardina has always been a crafty canvas for photography lovers. I loved looking around at what other folks made on their cameras before I started on mine.
Photo via Lomography The Sardina comes in black and white-- I chose the white for a completely blank canvas. :)
I thought a long time about the design that I wanted to make on the Sardina and I settled on using a paint-by-number section of a beer label that I really liked.
I cut out all of the sections from the beer label to cover the camera and then used matte Mod Podge to adhere them to the Sardina.
I'm still waiting to get some of my Sardina pics back from development but I can't wait to see the accidental serendipitous pics. :) As a special offer, the folks at Lomography are letting me host a giveaway where you can win a Sardina camera for yourself! All you need to do is
go here and fill out the Google form! Winner will be announced at the bottom of this post on the 17th of October. :)
