Splurge vs Save: Winter-Ready Skirts

I don’t know about you, but winter really strains my style inspiration. While at first, I’m all about shearling-lined boots and parkas, I eventually find myself slipping into a bit of a style rut. There are, after all, only so many times you can rock a cozy sweater and skinny jeans before you start to look like a broken record.

The easiest way to get of a sartorial hole? Introduce new pieces into your wardrobe that stray from your typical uniform. For me, that’s skirts — yes, in the winter. I’m not talking about the flouncy, ethereal styles you might rock in the spring and summer — no, these looks are made out of thick materials like wool, and promise to keep you warm. When paired with opaque or patterned tights, these styles are just as cozy as your favorite pair of jeans.
