Survive and Thrive in Our Favorite Footwear for #NYFW

So you’ve just gotten an invite (or 2 or 20) to a show at New York Fashion Week and you want to look your best. But hello? It’s February and we’re about to have another polar vortex. Add to that an icy and slushy city and looking great while running around has gotten a bit more challenging. That’s why great footwear is key to start your look.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Unless you’re Paris Hilton or Anna Wintour –or someone who has never taken public transportation –at no point should you wear narrow or stilletto heels to a show. You’ll look like a complete amateur and have hella trouble getting around.
• If you want to see over the annoying people holding their cell phones up in front of you don’t be afraid to push their hands down. (and DON’T be one of those people. Your phone video will look like crap and is an obvious humble brag – plus just really really rude). Another way to rise above the situation is to wear some serious platforms to get a little more height!
• Statement footwear is a fun way to get yourself streetstyle snapped and can let you keep everything else a bit more on the practical side.
