Hello World Baby Shower (Style Me Pretty Living)

In the shower category, baby showers reign supreme (well, in my not so humble opinion). I mean, all the itty bitty clothes? Too much. So when you layer on serious amounts of style on top of that cuteness, I basically don’t know how to deal. But that’s just what happen for Jennifer Wilson‘s adorable shower styled by The Swank Social captured by Taya Mitschke. It’s kind of perfect, and at least I know exactly how I want my baby shower to look when that time comes. See even more here.

My name is Jennifer Wilson and I am the owner and designer of VONBON, a modern and stylish organic cotton baby and children’s apparel and accessory line. The line is filled with neutral tones and soft color palettes that transition among all families looking for something different than your typical baby/ children’s wear. Due with my very first child this past November, I wanted to plan the perfect party to celebrate her arrival and express my love for styling and decor that is simple, clean and feminine. I created soft palette using neutral tones of white, cream, grey, gold and blush. My vision was brought to life with the help of my dear friend, Kristina Cross, from The Swank Social.

My sister, Kristin Sarna, from Studio 86 Creative Design helped me to create a simple but feminine invitation and even incorporated one of my feather images exclusively designed by me for the VONBON collection. Hello World was the ongoing theme and #hellobabywilson was the hashtag we chose to allow all of our guests to share their favorite moments and aspects of the shower while it was happening. It was so lovely going through all of the photos on Instagram after the party.

The idea of the event was to bring together all of my closest girlfriends, enjoy a lovely sit down lunch, chat the afternoon away while enjoying some amazing treats. A lovely afternoon filled with friends and love!

Petite Puf was on site to spin up some delicious organic cotton candy. With flavors like Chai and Strawberry Vanilla, it was so hard to choose what to indulge in!

Our desert table was an old vintage dresser that has been kept in my family for years. My mother passed it down to me, as she used it in my nursery and changed me on it. I have now used it in my daughters nursery. It was the perfect piece to showcase the gorgeous naked cake created by Tessa Sam, from Sweet Bake Shop and our custom cookies from Julie at The Whisk.
I provided Julie, with the invitation and my due date, and she created the sweetest custom cookies using our Hello World theme. Included where blush onesies, and a little calendar with my due date of November 13. They couldn’t have been more perfect, or more tasty! Powdered sugar donuts sat in each of the dresser drawers atop cold glass bottles of milk.

All of the gorgeous paper fans and tissue paper garlands were handmade by Kristina from The Swank Social. They put the perfect touch on the all white space and added a touch of whimsy.

Studio 86 Creative Design also created the fun place cards at each setting. Guests were asked to fill out which day they thought the baby would make her big debut, characteristics she would receive from her Mother, and kind gestures or words of advice. They made amazing keepsakes for her baby book, and a great record of everyone that was there to celebrate her that day.

Overall, it couldn’t have turned out more perfect. And now, my precious little angel is here. Esti Paige Wilson was born on Nov 8th, 2014. It’s hard to believe that almost two months have passed since she has arrived. She has been keeping me quite busy, which is why I am just getting around to submitting this now.
