Sum it Up Sunday: Perspective

The other day I thought about a few annoyances in my life. I was having a pretty good week, nothing good or bad had been happening and I was a-ok with that direction. Taking a closer look at my problems and putting them in perspective pushed my week from “eh” to “living the dream”

My first world problems:

1. I forget to pick clothing out the night before and must leave my warm room and walk across the “slightly chilled” apartment to my closet.

2. The bus stop for the express bus is .5 miles away. If I miss the express I can still take the slower route.

3. I get hungry every few hours and have to respond to it.

4. I like to watch t.v. on my laptop before bed and therefore can easily stay up too late= tired Michelle the next couple days.

Putting this in perspective:

1a. I have too many clothing choices and my closet isn’t in my room..haha, really, this is a problem? Just, no.

2a. My exercise is built in to my day and my bus pass is subsidized. I don’t have to pay to park or deal with other drivers. This is an all around win.

3a. This is a two-parter: I feel hungry=win and 2) I have so many options that trying to satisfy a craving is hard because of ALLLL the options.

4a. I’m privileged enough to have electronic devices and have a reason to get up early the next day. Moral of this story- light out around 10!

After writing these out on a sticky note the other night I laughed and realized that I definitley do not have a reason to complain about these little daily annoyances.

Sometimes, it’s all about perspective.
