cookies & crafts.

Things have been nuts since we got home from Tahoe. We had a Christmas party at our house for the youth in our church the other night, and we're also hosting a Christmas party for family this weekend. We have some sort of holiday event planned every night until Christmas. I love the hustle and bustle of the holidays but I love being at home with my family best. We've had some festive fun lately so I thought I'd document.

Tree painting. Thankful for easy Pinterest ideas. Also, note in the top right corner our new family pictures Steve hung!

Kate went the "abstract" route..

While Aubrey chose to finger paint ornaments - her idea!

During nap time, I whipped up these little Santa puppets. Aubrey was thrilled with it, but Kate screamed and ran away from it. She's a little terrified of Santa. Steve put on a Santa hat the other day and she wouldn't even go near him. I have no idea why she is so scared of the jolly old soul - we didn't make her sit on his lap or anything this year!

Cookie making/decorating was always my favorite thing to do with my mom before Christmas. I let the girls put in every single ingredient and do all the cookie cutting themselves. Needless to say, they loved it!

Now let's all pray we don't get salmonella after the excessive cookie dough tasting from today.
