Ice Ice Baby

A wonderful and happy sunday morning to all of you guys. Christmas week is already over in just a few hours and the new year is coming closer and closer. Even snow was falling yesterday – with quite some delay. Admittedly, my huge early-morning enthusiasm when I watched out of the window and noticed these big, white flakes dancing in the wind faded shortly after mid-day when the white carpet on the streets already turned to a grey-brown mud and my little toe was in danger of freezing because of the cold.

Of coooourse I wasn’t running around in the outfit I show you today – then you’d definitely be allowed to think it’s all my fault if I don’t dress warm enough. Actually I was all wrapped up in a half dozen of layers reaching from shirt, to sweater, to cape, to coat as well as to a big scarf and my feet were happy about the halfway warm booties. Well, in good memories of the warm autumn days I just discovered these photos in the depth of my hard disk… who’s not wishing for a radian sun, blue sky and 20 degrees now? But hey, there’s light at the end of the tunnel, the 21st december is over since a week, what means the days are slowly getting longer and summer is coming closer.

Guten Sonntagmorgen meine Lieben. Die Weihnachtswoche ist schon in wenigen Stunden vorbei und das neue Jahr rückt näher und näher. Sogar der erste Schnee ist gestern – mit einiges an Verspätung – gefallen. Zugegeben, meine riesige, morgendliche Begeisterung über die grossen, weissen Flocken, die da haufenweise vom Himmel fielen, schwand schon kurz nach Mittag, als sich der weisse Teppich bereits in grau-braunen Matsch verwandelte und mein kleiner Zeh vor Kälte zu erstarren drohte.

Natüüüürlich war ich nicht in dem Outfit unterwegs, dass ich heute zeige – dann würde auch jeder zu Recht denken dürfen: “Selbst schuld, wenn die sich nicht warm genug anziehen kann”. Tatsächlich packte ich mich in ein halbes duzend kuschlige Lagen aus Shirt, Pulli, Cape, Mantel und Schal und meine Füsse steckten in halbwegs warmen geschlossenen Booties. Tja, in guten Erinnerungen an den warmen Herbst teile ich jetzt aber trotzdem dieses Foto, dass ich soeben in den Tiefen meiner Festplatte entdeckte… da wünscht man sich doch glatt die strahlende Sonne am blauen Himmel und 20 Grad Lufttemperatur zurück. Aber hey, es geht bergauf, der 21. Dezember ist seit einer Woche vorbei, dass heisst, die Tage werden wieder länger, der Sommer kommt näher.
