Weekend Box – Crafting fun

Ah weekends…. to be honest, they’re not that different to any day for us… Papa works shifts so often isn’t home at the weekend, I work from home and fit it in whenever I can, and the kiddos don’t go to school… PLUS Saturdays are usually full of various groups so we’re rushing around like nutters.

Still, I like to try and keep Sunday’s free… no plans, no where we have to be or things to do. It’s nice to have a day to just do as we please. Somedays we’ll go out for Sunday lunch, or take a long walk before coming home to an afternoon movie. Others, especially rainy days, we’ll cover the table in the entire contents of our craft cupboards and see what we can make {asides from a mess}.

Whilst it’s fun to start crafting with no plans in mind, or just create something spur of the moment, other times it’s nice to have an actual activity. The other wet Sunday we spent the day crafting with our Weekend Box. It was just before Chinese New Year so all of the activities were themed around that.

The box comes with four different activites, and everything you need to complete them {asides from food if it’s needed}. There are only enough items for one child to do each activity {though you can purchase extra boxes at a discount for siblings} but as we have a craft cupboard full of things, we dug out the extra bits so we could all join in.

We got to make chinese dragons, a paper plate drum, paper lanterns and fortune cookies. It kept Kiki and Baya amused for a couple of hours, cutting and painting and glueing and thinking up fun fortunes. The fortune cookies were a big hit – all that crafting makes you hungry don’t you know?

If you’re looking for something that gives your child a fun afternoon crafting, then the Weekend Box is really worth a try. If you sign up through my link HERE, your first box is even free!

We were sent a free Weekend Box for the purpose of this review, but all thoughts are our own :)
