Dr. Seuss Inspired Snacks and Crafts

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday and if you are looking for a few quick and easy snack and craft ideas then I have four to share with you today. Reading is a part of our nightly routine with our daughter and Dr. Seuss is one of our favorites.

Dr. Seuss Inspired Snacks: Strawberry & Vanilla {the red hat} Parfait & Hat Kabobs INGREDIENTS: Strawberries Vanilla Yogurt Marshmallows
DIRECTIONS: For both the parfait and kabobs you are going to go back and forth and layer on the ingredients. The parfait with the yogurt and strawberries and the hat kabobs with strawberries and marshmallows. It is that simple for a fun and yummy treat.
Dr. Seuss Inspired Crafts: Thing 1 and Horton Hears A Who Hand print Crafts SUPPLIES: Acrylic Paint {red, white, blue} Sharpie Crayons/Markers Lettered Stickers (optional) DIRECTIONS: Thing 1 was created by using red paint on all your fingers except your ring finger and the palm of your hand. Try to spread your pinkie and thumb wide enough so it creates the arms. Once you let that part dry you can paint on the belly area with white paint. The head requires blue paint on your fingers and white paint on the palm of your hand. After everything is all dry then go back in with a sharpie and draw on the face and thing 1.
Horton hears a who was created by tracing your hand print and then drawing on the face, ears, tail, etc. It was then colored with marker and crayons. I used lettered stickers for the quote but you could just use markers.
These four crafts and snacks are really easy but lots of fun. Who doesn’t like finger painting? Which Dr. Seuss book is your favorite?
