Red and Green aren’t the only colors you have to use to decorate your home this holiday season. Emily from Boxwood Clipping shares her beautiful tutorial for making festive ornaments. These are perfect for decorating the tree and your home. See how she adds and glitz and elegance to her holiday decorating!

Hi everyone, I’m so excited to be visiting over from Boxwood Clippings today. I am obsessed with my Christmas card this year from Tiny Prints (see HERE). I loved the colors on the photo look against the shiny black foil!

This color combo inspired my Christmas decor in my formal living room. I went with traditional golds, whites and a hint of black.

Things were looking very traditional so I decided to make these fun starbursts to make things a little more modern.

Here’s how I made them:

Supplies:

  • Skewers (I used THESE apple skewers, but any will work)
  • Foam balls (Found HERE)
  • Spray paint (Found HERE)
  • Hot glue gun and glue (optional)

Steps:
1. Spray paint skewers and foam balls.
2. Pierce skewer into foam ball.

3. The skewers stay in pretty well, but if you’d like them to stay permanently, remove skewers and add a little hot glue into the foam ball.

I like how these look on the tree, and am planning on displaying them on my bookcase all year long!
