Valentine's Day is good for bringing in some lively pops of red around our home. Just when winter is getting blah and draggy a little red really wakes it all up!
I started with a ready to finish piece of wood from Hobby Lobby-now a more professional and talented DIY'er could just grab any old wood and a jigsaw and easily cut out an arrow for less than $10.99 (I used a half price coupon though and only spent $5.50-but still). However, I am not that blogger, not that crafter, not that DIY'er. Sometimes I look at my table saw and sigh thinking about how much work it would be to remove all of the crap I have stacked on top of it to actually use it.
I painted this guy a bright red and then used paint pens to create the lines around the edges and a stencil for my XO. VERY easy. I hot glued some little pom poms on the XO for some texture and interest and called it a day.
Its cute and fun. Very simple and something you could definitely have your kids help with on a chilly winter day.
I propped it right up on a desk in our living room. I told you I was feeling lazy and I didn't want to deal with finding a place to hang it up.
Are you too lazy for big projects in the wintertime too, or is it just me? My garage is cold and I really don't care to spend any time out there. But I am just waiting for a beautiful day with nothing planned and I will be creating something grand...or maybe going on a hike...can't decide.
