Let’s Move Here :: A Calm and Serene Home in Sweden

We realized recently that we have lived in our current home longer than anywhere we have lived together in our near 16 years of marriage. The fact that we were gone for 6 months of it seems hardly worth mentioning, but still, it’s been a very odd sensation for us to leave for so long and then come back and stay somewhere. We have had periods of restlessness in some of the places we have lived, but generally our moving about has come from curiosity and a sense of discovery.

I have always had a fascination with how people live in all different places which is probably why I make such a bad tourist. I am curious about where people eat out, what they do with their friends, and how they live when they are at home. When I saw this home in Sweden I was immediately struck by the calmness and serenity. I can just imagine the family relaxing together, reading books, and dining with friends over a long, leisurely dinner. Scandinavians have such a knack for creating a calm and serene home, which I think in so many ways reflects the kind of people they are. They are on a perpetual quest for light and coziness, which is one of the many reasons why we have returned to a place that, while it has it’s drawbacks at times, continually fills our lives with so much happiness.

Take a peek around and see if you are ready to move to Scandinavia, too… I do love Denmark, but Sweden is feeling awfully tempting at the moment…
