Trouvé Magazine :: Finding Inspiration For Life

The last few days have been pretty solemn around here, though I must say that your comments, e-mails, texts, and notes have been like a soothing balm on an aching soul. Guys, thank you, so much for your kindness. Words could not possibly express how much they mean to me.

Just this morning while news helicopters flew overhead, my mood dwindling to a deep sadness, I grabbed the copy of Trouvé Magazine, which I brought back from the US and am just now finding time to read. Trouvé, literally means “found” in French and I thought that was the perfect sentiment for the day. The magazine celebrates creatives and their lives and is based on the belief that there “…are stories and beautiful pictures in everyone’s life; they just need to be found and told.”

At times, in my own life, I have wondered if there is any real point in being inspired or trying to inspire others and an article by Carissa Holzer rang so true with me. She says:

“…life without inspiration is pretty meaningless. For it is inspiration that drives us to conviction, motivation, courage, and all else that is needed to create anything and everything beautiful. Without inspiration, what are we but beings plodding along that flat line of nothingness?”

I think we all have those days when we lose sight of inspiration, not just in our creative work, but in our very lives themselves. I hope these little excerpts will inspire you the way they have me to continue living an inspired life, reaching for beauty and believing, always, in good things…
