dressing a boy

Indy is almost 18 months old, excuse me when I go cry for a moment. All HOT summer long he lived in just a diaper or shorts and a tee. Now that's fall has hit Los Angeles it's great to be able to layer clothes and let Indy have his own fashion statement. Okay that sounds lame but it's the truth. Right now he is all about the colored skinny jeans. He has red, orange, navy and black. I'm not going to lie, its HARD to find great little boys clothes with out spending a small fortune, I am going to share my sources with you. Also, I have been really lucky to find a few great things via resales. Never right off resale shops, local buy/sell/trade groups or even "Instasales".
I also love H&M these days because he still fits in the baby sized stuff and not the larger toddler sizes. They have really cute cardigans and sweaters right now and pants in almost every color. They are a great place to pick up the basic solid colored shirts too. Sometimes it's hard to find things without all kinds of sayings and logos, H&M always has me covered.
Target is always great! I love the skinny jeans in the Genuine Kids line, he was being wearing those for awhile now. Actually that Genuine Kids line is great for everything, they have sweaters and cute tees. Awesome thing about Target almost nothing is over $20. I also really like the Harajuku Mini line by Gwen Stefani, it can be kind of hit or miss but I have grabbed some great things.
Then we have Baby Gap, on occasion I will buy something but I refuse to buy anything full price, it's just to expensive. His little Notre Dame shirt was on clearance for $11. I'm not going to lie, they make the cutest clothes and they are great quality but the rate at which my boy grows it just isn't worth it. I will say make sure you sign up for emails because they do email great coupons to use online. Same goes for Old Navy, they were a staple when Indy was smaller, I am not loving a lot of what they have in the toddler line. They are still a great resource for tee shirts and basics.
Now the one and only thing I will down right splurge on is shoes. I am addicted to little boy shoes! Indy rocks Vans, Stride Right, Toms and Converse these days. Again this is something that I love to find in great condition at resales but that doesn't always happen, and that would be when I put down some $$$.
So those are our shopping spots. I am also always on Gilt, Zulily and Totsy looking for great finds. Just because you have a boy doesn't mean you can have fun while dressing him. I always tell people "one day soon he wont let me pick out his clothes anymore, so I am going to enjoy every moment I get to".
