Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow for Spring 2014

Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadows now come in more shades for spring 2014!

These eye shadows have a metallic yet creamy formula. There are nineteen shades now, some exclusive to Ulta. The new spring shades are:

  • Metallic Jade – golden emerald green
  • Metallic Violet – glistening violet shimmer
  • Metallic Lilac – soft lilac luster
  • Metallic Golden Pink – pink with golden shimmer
  • Metallic Rose Quartz – soft pink with silver sheen
  • Metallic Gilded Gold – golden bronze luster
  • Metallic Pixie Dust – irridescent white gold
  • Metallic Peach – soft peach shimmer

With these shadows you can get either a light wash of color or a deeper, more intense one depending on how much you layer them. Each one includes a Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer and a mixing tray.

So here’s what you do. You scoop out a little bit of the eye shadow into the tray. Then add a drop of the mixing primer. You mix them together and then apply the shadow. You can either use a brush or your finger, which I always find easier with this sort of thing. You can keep adding layers to build up the intensity.

Metallic Golden Pink, Metallic Rose Quartz, Metallic Lilac

I did as the instructions said I should and mixed each of these in their respective trays with one drop of the primer. I was able to build them up a decent amount but to my eye they look more shimmery than super metallic-y or foil-like. This is not over a regular eye primer like I would use on my actual eye, and I think they would probably get a little more intense that way.

Metallic Golden Pink is a pink with gold shimmer.

Metallic Rose Quartz is a soft rose pink with silver shimmer.

Metallic Lilac is a a pale lilac shimmer.

Overall: I feel like rather than being metallic they are more shimmery. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing in my book. I really love the Golden Pink shade, I think it’s really beautiful. If you use these with the primer there isn’t any need to worry about fall-out because they turn into more of a cream formula. I think they would look really amazing layered over another regular eye shadow!

Availability: Sephora, Ulta, Stila. The shades sold only at Ulta are Metallic Jade, Metallic Violet, Metallic Lilac, Metallic Golden Pink, Rose Quartz, Metallic Gilded Gold, Metallic Pixie Dust, and Metallic Peach.

Pricing: $32.00 for 0.07 oz.

Will you be trying any of these out?
