Taking Stock

Lunch at Coal Valley View with Mel. She is AWESOME.

Joining in with Meet Me at Mike’s, not stealing broth.

Making : Waves
Cooking : Bliss balls (also known as “bribe balls” owing to making them for our Tasmania trip in case of child behaviour emergency) which were actually pretty awesome, Laura Bush’s choc-chip cookies (again for travel emergencies), which appears to be my go-to choc-chip cookie recipe these days, salads with lemon juice dressing, a thousand smoothies filled with good fats (bumping up everyone’s omega 3 these days just in case), quinoa for breakfast, and a constant rotation of eggs soldiers with amazing organic free range eggs. Nothing like it.
Drinking : So much water. Filtered water. Really making a concerted effort to drink more, lord knows I need it. I do feel better, though. Also been trying different V8 flavours and making stuff with it (coconut tropical popsicles, anyone?!)
Reading : Still trying to get through Cross Stitch so I can start Gone Girl. I really like Cross Stitch (or Outlander, depending on where you live), but only reading a bit before bed now and then means it’s taking a loooooong time to get through. I once lived with a Scottish lass and picked up her funny little speech mannerisms and this book is doing the same.
Wanting : A toilet brush. And an outfit for an upcoming wedding but I loathe shopping and I loathe trying clothes on even more.
Looking : At the beautiful Tasmanian scenery.
Playing : Lego and lots of Peter Rabbit-themed things.
Wasting : Not much, actually, which is nice.
Sewing : Nada
Wishing : A dress would magically appear without going to a store.
Enjoying : The weather, the holiday feeling in the air, a slower pace, TASMANIAN CHEESE.
Waiting : For the kettle to boil, usually.
Liking : General PMA
Wondering : What I am doing next year.
Loving : See: TASMANIAN CHEESE
Hoping : That everyone keeps sleeping.
Marvelling : That my cat was returned! Poor Bobbin got out of our new house after we’d kept him in for more than a month. Usually an outside cat, he made his way out to sniff out his new territory and never came home. For more than two weeks we searched, and after a reasonable amount of time, when I thought he must have been in serious trouble (it seemed longer than just a naughty cat roaming about for a few days), I started crying in cat food aisles and other random things that reminded me he was out there and alone. He had taken off his collar, and I figured people would just assume he was a neighbourhood cat if they saw him, not necessarily know he was lost. One lovely girl handed him into a nearby vet and they called and left a voicemail to collect him the next day as they were closed. I called back and left a tearful voicemail (I was so RELIEVED) and they took pity on me and waited after closing an extra half an hour so I could pick him up straight away. Shoutout to the awesome people at Brunswick Central Vet Clinic! One happy cat mama.
Needing : To buy another cat collar…
Smelling : My hair. I just washed it. I gave that baking soda/apple cider vinegar thing a go, and this was my second round.
Wearing : Sass Bide denim cutoffs, The Amity Affliction tshirt, everyday Uberkates (how cool is she to do this!).
Following : The Little Bookroom, Lady Frankie, The Raw Food Store
Noticing : My kids turning into people with their own personalities.
Knowing : That they’re watching me and internalising what I do. Must try harder to not shout when things get shouty.
Thinking : About travelling to Sydney this week, and ordering a veggie box when I get back.
Feeling : Happy. And slightly peckish.
Bookmarking : Ayurvedic recipes and where to buy Mason jars
Opening : My laptop less last week and this upcoming one. I love those weeks, and I fight so hard to make more of them these days.
Giggling : I CANNOT stop laughing at this – the more I look, the funnier it gets. Even if I haven’t seen it for days, I randomly catch a glimpse in my phone and I’m set off again. so good!
Listening : Peter Fucking Rabbit on audiobook, which my kids request eight million times a day. Sometimes the new Taylor Swift album because Blank Space, yo.

Whatchoo doing?
