United Will Announce New Food for Their Lounges Tomorrow… Including Hard Boiled Eggs and Salami!

United previewed their new lounge food today for several folks (I was not invited), although apparently they’re not willing to comment until the official release tomorrow.

Nonetheless, from tweets of folks at the event we have the menu and photos of the food that we can expect.

Here’s @AirlineReport:

And the menu, from @cjmcginnis:

And a photo of the spread from @StuckatAirport.

Morning seems the strongest with cereal, oatmeal, scones, fruit, bagel sticks, hard boiled eggs, and greek yogurt.

Afternoon strikes me as weaker with soup, hummus, cheese and salami, and trail mix.

This doesn’t match what Delta is doing and Delta’s offerings don’t impress me. It seems more similar to what American just announced which more or less was to adopt the US Airways club model.

And of course it doesn’t come close to what American Express offers at their Centurion lounges in San Francisco, New York LaGuardia, Las Vegas, or Dallas.

Let alone the wine in the San Francisco Centurion lounge…

(In fact I find the United Club Card banner that you can see from inside the San Francisco Centurion lounge to be especially ironic.)

Nonetheless, it will be good to see an improvement for United flyers.

Here’s more discussion at Milepoint and Brian Sumers writes about this as well.
