Susan Gregg Koger, CCO and co-founder of Modcloth

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then you know how amazing this year's Lucky FABB West conference was! For those who do not yet know, I'm here to fill you in.
So, the first day was focused on fabulous/inspiring speakers, most notably Kelly Osbourne, Drew Barrymore, Betsey Johnson, Susan Koger (CCO and co-founder of Modcloth), and Mandana Dayani (VP of Rachel Zoe, Inc.).
Drew was there to talk about being a working mother, having it all, and her new beauty line, Flower Beauty. It's worth a look, as the pigment, ingredients, packaging and wearability are what you'd expect from a luxury brand, but Flower Beauty is exclusively at WalMart. I'm personally in love with the Easy On The Eyes Eyeliner in Aubergine (it's great for blue eyes!) and the BB Cream (out of stock in my color -- boo!).
The formidable and too-fabulous-for-words Bestey Johnson talked about how her new show came about, XOX, Betsey Johnson, premiering on the Style Network May 12th. The show will include her beauty of a daughter, Lulu, a hot trainer and a therapist. It's sure to be good times!
Susan Gregg Koger, one of my Silicon Valley faves, talked about what makes Modcloth so successful. Much of what she said related to the strong community engagement of Modcloth shoppers, via reviews, their Be The Buyer program (which is really fun!) and the Modcloth Style Gallery. What I personally love about Modcloth is how they've carved out this very defined style, both in terms of their apparel and accessories, and how they interact with their very devout shoppers. You can almost always tell when a girl is wearing something from Modcloth (usually because it's the cutest dress in the room) and that really says a lot about how well they know themselves and their customers.
The second day of Lucky FABB was all about break-out sessions and the brand gifting suite (woot!). Now, I have to be honest here, I was in pretty bad shape after the sweet and all-too-beautiful Kier of Fashion Addict arranged for a blogger dinner and bottle service at the hot Hollywood club, Greystone Manor. But I'm a trooper, particularly when gifts are involved.
My fave brands from the gifting suites were:
Xen Tan -- love their Deep Bronze Luxe. It smells like vanilla frosting and so many people told me how tan I look this week. Check back next week for some before and after pics and a special discount for Voila readers.
Julie Vos -- It was a pleasure to meet the very talented jewelry designer and her super kind staff. And without gushing too much, I have to say, the Soho Bracelet that they gifted me might be one of my all-time favorite pieces. I've literally worn it every day since I received it.
Thursday Friday -- I mean, who wouldn't want to own a Celine that you can tote groceries in? This brand is ingenious, with their totes that have designer bags printed on them -- on all sides (including the bottom!). They're seriously the cutest things and I'm not sure how I lived without my Fest Together Bag and Diamonds Here Pochette.
D'Andrea -- So, this fine leather line has beautiful pieces that don't take themselves too seriously. I was gifted the beautiful Mr. Player, a wallet with gorgeous hardware, that fits my phone, a lipstick, a powder compact and all of my cash and cards. I also have my eye on the Mr. One-Nighter, a gorgeous little bag with a cleverly adjustable gold strap. Both are from the Pre-Fall 2013 Mister Collection, which, as you may have guessed, is a line of all of your bad ex-boyfriends, including Mr. Emotionally Unavailable and Mr. Stalker, only with these fellas, you won't help but fall in love.
That's really only scratching the surface. I'll be doing more product and brand reviews in the upcoming weeks. We received a beautiful Le Sports Sac duffle stuffed with trinkets, jewelry and beauty products, which I'm slowly working my way through. I'll report back once I've reached the bottom.
Et Voila!
xoxo,
~Meghan
