DIY Idea: Vintage Hairstyle Pillowcases

Have you ever wished you lived in a different decade? Well…I haven’t. I like having a cell phone and Google and the right to vote and stuff. But I do love the style aspects of a lot of past decades. I’m especially obsessed with old fashioned hairstyles these days. So I came up with a little project to fake having one of these hairstyles without even getting out of bed.

You can really easily customize this idea, and I don’t have a template or anything. So this is really just an idea that I thought I’d share with you all. But here are some very rough instructions.

DIY Vintage Hairstyle Pillowcases – what you need:

  • plain pillowcases
  • iron-on fabric
  • scissors
  • iron

Step 1: Cut out a hairstyle

You can use the photos above as guides, or just choose out other hairstyles you like. But you should try to make them just a bit larger than life-sized (I used my head as a measuring tool, fyi). They should also be able to fit on your pillowcase, of course.

Step 2: Iron on the fabric

Then all you need to do is place the fabric onto a clean, plain pillowcase and iron it on. That’s all there is to it! Then when you lay down it kind of looks like you have that hairstyle (if you really squint, ya know?). Here’s a picture of me with mine that I made really blurry since no one needs to see me first thing in the morning. But it also looks really cute on its own.
