Dongan Hills woman concerned after 63-year-old dad goes missing

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Kristina Kambakakis of Dongan Hills says she hasn't seen or heard from her 63-year-old father since Wednesday morning -- which is very unusual.

Her father, John Kambakakis, was last seen around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, outside the 7-Eleven on Seaview Avenue and Hylan Boulevard, near the family's home on Cromwell Avenue, wearing a gray jacket with blue jeans. Ms. Kambakakis says her father likes to take walks around the neighborhood, but will always call to notify her, or her sister, whenever he leaves the house, of exactly where he's going, and when he'll be back.

Kambakakis is in good health, and has never disappeared before, his daughter said. He lives with his two daughters, while the rest of his family lives in Greece, leaving him with nowhere else to reside, according to Ms. Kambakakis.

"Dad, we love you, we want you to come home, we hope you're okay," she said. "We're asking everyone to please say a prayer."
