Beauty Loves Pt 2: January 2015

Two beauty posts in one month? Yup, I think you heard right. Having so many make-up favourites, I thought I'd split everything in to two, to avoid too much of a heavy read and to make things a little bit more digestible! This post is a bit of a monthly round up of all of my skin, hair and perfume favourites of late. I'm not one to change up my skincare routine all that often, as I'm pretty prone to finding something I like and sticking with it (when you got a good thing going and all that), but over the last couple of months I've been sampling some new bits which have become firm staples, so I thought I'd share them!

Get your spritz on!
The two fragrances I've been switching between have been a mix of my signature Daisy, and this beautiful new fragrance from Tom Ford. I've been a Marc Jacobs muse ever since I stopped considering Impulse as my signature fragrance and making homemade perfume from rose petals to sell outside my house (I was about 6 ok), and have pretty much worn every one of his fragrances since (and then struggled to part with the bottles afterwards). So, with Daisy being my go-to scent, it'd definitely be rude to not include it's younger sister, Eau So Fresh. Saying that, Velvet Orchid by Tom Ford is another fragrance I've been a little bit head-over-heels with, and with Tom Ford being Joe's brand of choice for smellies, it's about time I cottoned on...

First step cleansing!
My complete go-to four step cleansing and polishing routine nearly always consists of the above four products. Starting off, I always take my eye make up off with the Garnier Micellar water (never again will I have to hunt down Bioderma with my last 10 Euros) and I've used the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm for a good few months now (repurchasing it once already)- and it's the one cleanser that never, ever fails me. It's wonderfully hydrating, doesn't dry my skin out- and feels luxurious enough that you can treat it like a miniature facial every time you take your make up off. On top of that, depending on the kind of 'skin-week' I'm having, I'll occasionally pop out the La Roche-Posay spot treatment, as I'm yet to find anything else that combats pimples like this guy. Finally, I've also started using the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, which I've been treating as a toner in my routine, which is uber refreshing, and I hear it helps dry out any looming spots too!

Little bits of luxury!
Above, let me introduce you to the moisturising treats in my routine. Ever since Christmas, I've been using the Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial nearly nightly (I think we can mutually blame a certain Anna and Lily for this), with Clinique's Moisture Surge being a once-a-week treat, or a rescue remedy for any winter dryness. I've also started giving the Creme De La Mer mini moisturiser a test run- more to see if it's worth the hype (and £££ price) but so far it's pretty lovely- but I'll report back when I've used it for a good couple of weeks! Finally, my last two nourishing favourites are the Origins 'Make a Difference' night cream, which is perfect for the chilly weather and this handy lip balm from Blistex (which smells like strawberries and being 14 again)!

Taming the mane!
Finally- the barnet! Having used this Pantene pick for months (it's amazing at keeping away the grease), come December I began trialing a couple of other shampoos which I'd had my eye on for a while, including Mermaid Hair, which is even better than the bottle looks ; ) it's completely natural, so doesn't lather like you're average shampoo, but smells like pina colada's and coconut, and leaves my hair squeaky clean, healthy and smelling amazing. I've also loved using Mane 'n Tale (which originally began as a horse shampoo), and is another product great for thickening up my somewhat-thin 'do! Finally, this Bumble and Bumble conditioner is the perfect way to wrap up a hair wash- leaving everything well conditioned and nourished!

P.S I know a couple of people asked why I hadn't done a video instead, so perhaps next month I'll make a beauty favourites video if you'd be interested?
