Review: Belo Intensive Whitening (Tranexamic Acid + Kojic Acid)
I was asked if I wanted to review the latest whitening products from Belo Essentials and who am I to refuse? I've been a fan of their whitening soaps and their SunExpert Sunblock (one of the best in the market I tell you!) way way way back. When I reviewed their Belo Intensive Whitening Bar last year, I thought to myself, okay, the soap is really strong. Strong in the sense that compared to other brands, the tranxanemic acid ingredient of theirs really helped in making it more effective and work faster. I was ecstatic when I saw the commercial with Sarah G that they finally launched a partnering face cream and body cream. Not to mention the catchy commercial that makes me go LSS on.. "whiiiiiiite!" hahaha

WHAT IS TRANEXAMIC ACID?
It's the latest discovery in skin whitening that it works faster and better than it's competing ingredients such as; vitamin c, arbutin, and kojic acid. It is the most popular skin lightening ingredient in Japan and Thailand.1

I reviewed this last year on my blog and ever since then, whenever I get readers who ask me; "What's the most effective whitening soap for dark spots?" This is the first product that comes to mind. No product comes close when it comes to deep efficacy in lightening spots and scars.

BELO INTENSIVE WHITENING FACE CREAM
What it says? That it's a luxurious skin-rejuvenating face and neck cream with the powerful combination of Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid that intensively whitens skin. SPF30 further protexts against harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Active ingredients
- Niacinamide - Vitamin B3, a skin lightening ingredient
- Butyrospermum Parkii
- Octyl Methoxycinnamate/Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane/Octocrylene/Titanum Dioxide/Ethylhexyl Methoxycrylene - All sunscreen ingredients that provide sun protection
- Aluminum Hydroxide - Skin whitening ingredient, it also helps in minimizing pores
- Bee Venom - It works to reduce inflammation and pimples. I was surprised they didn't mention this in their product description as this ingredient is really effective! It is the active ingredient in their Acne Pro line
- Chamomile Extract - Relaxing and anti-inflamattory
- Kojic Acid - Inhibits melanin production
- Tranexamic Acid - Inhibits melanin production AND works to lighten spots and dark marks on skin
Packaging and Product Texture
When I first saw the tub, I told myself, oh why oh why did they place the product in a jar and not in a squeeze tube or tub. It's not hygeinic! But when I opened the lid, I was happy to see a cute little scooper inside. This allows you to get an ample amount of product, without dipping your fingers in the cream. You can sanitize this scooper with wipes or alcohol after using (if you're that OC)
It contains a generous amount of fluffy white cream that smells really nice. The smell is not overpowering, just light and floral citrusy. Barely there.
How to use? Get a pea-sized amount using the cute scooper. See the photo above as your reference. Then place dots on your forehead, cheeks, and chin and spread outwards.
Belo Intensive Whitening Face Cream Review
I used this product consistently and exclusively for 2 weeks. This is the typical timeline I follow when testing and reviewing products. The face cream feels light on the face. It's non-sticky. The SPF30 and powerful sunscreens included is a bonus! Tranaxemic acid is a very very potent whitening ingredient and if used without sun protection, your skin is at risk for damage. I'm thankful they included sun protection already so we don't have to worry. There's bee venom too! So if you're suffering from mild-moderate acne, this can also help. Talk about being super multi-purpose.

As much as my skin is already fair due to my long-term intake of skin whitening supplements and use of external whitening products, I still had stubborn spots on my face due to my old acne issues . Most products do not target the spots, sometimes it lightens the skin as a whole but leaves the scars and spots there, looking more visible. This cream did lighten them that now

Our intensive skin whitening regimen won't be complete without something to moisturize our bodies! Don't worry because Belo also provided us their Intensive Whitening Body Cream.
It contains the same powerful ingredients as their intensive whitening soap and face cream. It also has the same light floral citrusy fragrance that I love. I just wished they used the same scent they have with the soap. That one is just divine! Oatmeal and powdery! *sigh*
Their body cream is packaged in a very hygienic and easy to squeeze tube that dispenses the right amount of product for it's texture.
How to Use For those wondering how much product they should dispense. I use my middle finger to measure. I make a long line. This one is good enough for my arms. I use another strip for each leg. Then another strip for my chest and back. A total of 4 strips for the whole body. You then lather all over. It's non sticky and has a very good slip. It also provides ample moisture. One trouble I have with my skin is it's texture. It's actually dry that's why I considered using whitening lotions na. This is definitely one for the books!
I recommend this set to people who have been longing to treat stubborn dark spots, and also those who want to make their skin whiter, fast. I remember reading a comment here in my blog that mentioned that the best way to make the product work is to use the complete line. Do take note however, that the lightest we can possibly get is how light our tummy is *lifts shirt and peeks at tummy* hehe.
