Kryolan Professional Make-up Graphic Nail Art, Review and SALE News!

press samples

Hey there! I have a new-to-me brand on the blog today. Based in Berlin, Kryolan Professional Make-Up has been supplying the film, theater and television industries for over sixty-six years. Kryolan Nail Colors come in 36 shades and retail for $13.95. But right now through 30 September, they’re on sale for $9.95! So grab some if you like what you see! I used three shades to create some abstract nail art.

I’m hanging on to the end of summer with this look. The three colors I used are Impulsive, a bright fuchsia, Vivid, a soft teal, and Satisfied, a sky blue. (Kryolan bottle shots below)

I started with Satisfied, then used a medium striper brush to hand paint the tailed shapes. Just start with a large circle, then pull out the end. After those were finished, I went back in with Satisfied and added a dot to the center of each base. They remind me of the markers on Google maps! My final design didn’t turn out as graphic as I’d envisioned, but I still dig the result.

If I had to describe this polish line in one word, it would be “delicate”. Granted, I had a very small sample size (three polishes) to test…but everything about these seemed “light”. The bottles are small (11 mL), the brushes are thin, with short stems, the caps are lightweight and the formula is on the thinner side. Having said that, I did like the line…it’s just different than what I’m used to. It seems that everyone else is leaning in the ‘heavier-is-better’ direction with bulkier, weighted glass bottles, wider brushes and creamier formulas. Even though you need to build the color to get a dense result, the formula was incredibly smooth and easy to apply. I look forward to trying some of their other shades.

Has anyone else tried them?

Kryolan Nail Colors are on sale through 9/30/14 for $9.95 each (regularly $13.95). Shop online at kryolan.com and follow them on social media for news and promotions: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
