WPP Strategic Pause. Bear with me…I’m switching platforms

Hey guys. I hope you had a wonder weekend. We’re getting over a bout of serious bronchitis at my house. I missed a week of work. A WEEK! That’s huge! Anyway, that was the reason there weren’t more posts (and more chances) to enter the OPI Hawaii Collection Giveaway. Speaking of, I’ve notified the winner and I’m waiting for a response as I type. :)

In addition to my sicky issues, I’ve been plagued with web hosting problems. My site is a self-hosted WordPress installation and my hosting costs $25 per month ($300 a year…so please visit my sponsors – they make WPP possible!) Over the past three months, my site has been unreachable over 25 separate times for a total of over 5 solid days of downtime. This is frustrating for me…and you, I’m sure. It’s even more frustrating when you’re trying to enter a giveaway.

Sooooo….I’m taking a huge leap and moving from WordPress to Blogger. I know, that’s crazy. Most people migrate in the opposite direction. But Blogger will allow me to host ads and video for free…something that’s not possible on the free wordpress.com. I think it’s the right decision for the blog long term.

I had two more giveaways planned for March. I’ve decided to postpone those until I get everything moved to the new platform. I’m nervous. This is an enormous undertaking and I’m sure there will be glitches. Blogger only allows a certain number of post imports daily…so I’ll be moving things over in batches. The fun part is that I’m getting the opportunity to read (and sometimes cringe) at my old stuff. LOL. I’ll be simplifying the layout, as well.

Thank you so much for bearing with me. I know this year’s blogging has ebbed and flowed, but I’m still very much committed and looking forward to having everything settled as I finish up my third full year of WPP.
