three spring trends

As part of my challenge in Modeblogprisen 2015 I get to feature my view on spring trends for men using image material from the webshop Miinto. The first spring trend I want to promote is a real classic: the sailor look. Really the nautical theme has been a thing in fashion for a few seasons now and this spring brands like Gucci and A.P.C. went all in with sailor style hinting to a sleek, 60s-inspired silhouette with narrow trousers, leather boots and peacoats. The look is perfect for spring weather since it can be worn with heavy knits or light shirts. Just remember to rock those navy blue stripes like you were Pablo Picasso himself.

You might have noticed that the 60s are huge in both men’s and women’s fashion these days, but you better get ready for the 70s feel now. Brands like Prada, Saint Laurent, Burberry and Topman are pushing the cool retro look, so think V-necks, burnt colours, sharp oversize collars, flared pants and lots of denim. The trend will be a bit hippie with ponchos and suede jackets as seen at Saint Laurent, but I’m leaning more towards the original Yves-style. A bit more sophisticated. And if there is one thing that will be major in 2015 it is western stitching’s, so obviously I’m already saving up for those Prada shirts and you should too. This trend is a good investment as well as it only will get bigger during fall 15.

The sporty style has been huge last year already, but this season top designers are joining the game and the result is sportswear deluxe. So if you haven’t already invested in those sweatpants you better go online shopping right away. Pair them with a silk shirt to soften the look or go for the more toned down sporty style with boxer-inspired shirts like the ones Carven sent down the runway. This trend will obviously be huge amongst us comfy clothes lovin’ Danes. But remember that just wearing discount sweats from top to toe really doesn’t do the trick.
