Fourteen Weeks

We went to the OC fair last Saturday afternoon. James ended up getting home early from work that day (a rarity) and I wasn't feeling like crawling in bed for the entire evening (also craziness) so we walked over to the fairgrounds and took in the sights and sounds and fair food. Nachos, chicken cabobs, lemonade and a funnel cake. Mmmmm.

We walked throughout the entire grounds, and meandered a bit for about 2 hours before both of us were ready to go home and rest our weary legs. It was the most exercise I've done in weeks and it felt good.

We tried to take a belly shot, but there just isn't much there to show right now so it feels awkward. Also, I'm really not comfortable being in front of the camera right now. I need to work on that. Maybe next week :)

Weekly Stats

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: About 2 pounds. It's still fluctuating a lot and I haven't had any consistent weight gain yet.
Maternity clothes? I'm definitely not in a lot of my pre-pregnancy clothes.. ie. normal bras, jeans without a belly band or tight tops. But, my maternity selection is still fairly small, and I don't have to wear them consistently. Today I'm wearing a maternity tank with regular jeans and a belly band.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep Habits: We had trouble sleeping this week.. and then realized that the poor sleep (waking up every few hours in night sweats, etc) started when we took our flannel sheets off the bed and replaced them with a "cooler" pair. Last night we took the top sheet off and just slept with our comforter and didn't have any problems. So, I think it's a non-breathable sheet problem, and not a pregnancy related one :) I did, however, waked up in the middle of the night Monday night (1AM) due to nausea and found myself throwing up in the bathroom. It was the worst because I didn't have any food in my stomach (probably also part of the problem). jaksdfhsjkda.
Best moment this week: The nausea, in general, is lifting. It's not completely gone, but there has been a definite shift and there were several moments throughout the week that I actually felt good and didn't even think about it. That is something worth celebrating. And we told everyone our news! We announced it on facebook (and here on the blog, officially) and everyone is so excited for us. I'm so glad to be able to talk about it openly now. It definitely makes everything seem a lot more real.
Worst moment this week: Definitely the sleep issues and the middle of the night sick party.
Miss anything? I still haven't cleaned my house since I found out I was pregnant. (Luckily James has). There are a lot of things I haven't had the energy to do. Definitely missing energy and motivation to get things done at home.
Movement: Not yet, but that has to be coming soon.. right?
Food cravings: No cravings this week.. I still really don't feel like eating, ever, and nothing sounds appealing. I have to force myself to eat so I don't get sick.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Like I said, this is getting better. But then this morning I was leaving for work and James made some poached eggs. The smell bowled me over and I had to hold my breath and dash out of the house before I got sick. It's so unpredictable.
Gender: Last night I was sure it was a boy. This morning I have no idea anymore. The truth is it's a 50/50 chance and we won't know until we know. So yea.
Labor Signs: Definitely none.
Symptoms: Occasional nausea, fatigue in the evenings (though it is lessening), no appetite, strong sense of smell, my body is thickening and fattening up, still dealing with acne and breakouts.
Belly Button in or out? In
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy with just a little bit of emotional thrown in. I wouldn't really say it's moody. But this week was pretty tearful for me, over silly things of course. I've just been crying over everything. Even so, I'd still say I'm mostly happy. Funny how that works.
Looking forward to: Getting a bump, our next midwife appointment in a couple of weeks, feeling the baby move.. so many things.
