Sample Test: Innisfree Mineral Melting Foundation Fitting

I got a sample of the Innisfree Mineral Melting Foundation (20,000KRW | full size), and decided to finally try it on after letting it sit in a pot full of sample-sized products for what seems like forever. I literally just Google'd its name right before I opened Blogger, and found out that it's actually a cream compact foundation. Which is parallel to my initial thought that it is a very cushion-y foundation.

I have never tried compact foundation before, but I was very pleased with this one. The foundation has a mousse-like consistency which made it very easy to blend. As the name implies, it melts in your face. It's like spreadable butter!

The foundation only comes in four shades - N1 (Natural Beige), N3, C2 (Cool Beige), W2 (Warm Natural Beige). I'm not very happy with the shades available, but a limited color range is pretty typical to Korean foundations/BB creams. I have this in the shade N#3 (Natural True Beige), the darkest shade of the range, which luckily fits me good enough. I think W2 would be perfect for me, as N3 is just a tad neutral for my very yellow skin.

It has a very nice matte finish - which is what I prefer in a face base. Whilst applying, I noticed how light it feels on my face, surprising because it has a medium coverage. It looks really great on my face minus some parts of my cheeks where I have far too many dry patches. I use the Real Techniques Expert Face brush to apply this foundation, but I found that it helps blend the foundation immensely by using a buffing brush afterwards.

It doesn't last as long as I thought it would for a matte foundation. Give or take 4 hours before I notice my t-zone getting a bit oily. This, however, is without any primer. It would probably last 6 hours at the most with the help of a good primer setting powder/spray.

It also has SPF 32, which is great for me since I don't apply sunscreen to my face very religiously.

What samples have you been trying lately? :)
