Lately, I’ve been hearing lots of things about Mistine. Most of them were reviews done by local beauty vloggers and I really wanna know what’s so special with the brand. Luckily, my friend Ana Marie, (a woman after my own heart when it comes to makeup – that’s why we should never go on a shopping trip together :P) went to Bangkook and she told me that Mistine was there practically everywhere. She bought tons of Mistine products and she decided to get me 2 products to try. I will be reviewing them for you. But for now, let’s start with my favorite. The Mistine Joops Color Rich Lip Tube in ‘#7′.

Sadly, I can’t find any details about this product in English,
but if you want to visit their website, you can visit them at http://www.mistine.co.th/

This lip product, comes with a transparent, glossy tube, with a cap and a tiny nozzle. Pretty similar to the OCC Lip tars. (Check out my review of the OCC Lip Tars Pro’s Picks V2). These types of lip tubes aren’t really travel friendly since you will need a lip brush in order to apply it (which is btw not included). Therefore, if you’re the type of person who likes to retouch their lipstick, then this might not be the one for you.

#7 is more of a warm, hot pink shade ideally worn during summer, but I still love wearing it specially during the day time. It’s not that hard to find a match when it comes to blushes because it’s not as bright and everyone can definitely pull it off. It’s very opaque and can cover my lips with just a single swipe.

Compared to the other lip paints that I’ve tried which has the same concept, this one’s a bit different. The formula is slightly thicker than OCC & the L.A. Girl Glazed Super Intense Lip Paints (Review here) but it still feels very moisturizing. It also takes a while to set compared to the others, so you will need to blot a few times if you want to ensure it’s longevity or if you don’t want it to transfer.

What I like about this though is that it’s very easy to apply. Perhaps because it’s a bit thicker, so you’re less prone to making mistakes. It’s not that hard to blend either, and it doesn’t settle onto the lines of my lips. I can freely wear this without worrying that my chapped lips will become extremely visible. Like I said, it’s moisturizing and they leave my lips feeling that way for hours. They don’t leave my lips feeling dry as the hours go by. They lasted on me for approximately four hours without eating oily foods. If you don’t blot, they’ll transfer even after the first hour because like I said, it takes time to set. But what I like about this is that it stains my lips. By the time it starts to fade, it leaves my lips with a slight hint of pink.

My favorite about this lip product is actually the scent. It smells like those old school bubble gums. Reminds me of my childhood, lol. I know I mentioned before that I’m not really fond of scented makeups, but the scent of this one just brought me back to the good ‘ol days. Back when I used to buy tons of Tarzan, Texas and Big Boy bubble gums. Deja Vu!

Overall, I really think this product is a hit in my book. Despite it’s flaws, (packaging, takes a while to set, transfers, availability) I still like it. It’s very inexpensive, it’s only Php 200 and if you’re into OCC Lip tars but just don’t have the budget, then you might want to try this one. It’s not an exact dupe in terms of longevity, and I can’t speak for the other shades, but it’s definitely worth it for the price.

I hope you liked my new way of reviewing stuff. I’m still experimenting and I’m not saying that I’ll be sticking to this kind of format. But let me know if this works out for you.

I’ll see you in my next post!
